In-plant Training (Phase I - 3 months & Phase II – 4-5 months), such that each trainee covers atleast one CNO, ROCP & one other plant (VACNO or Foods) during trainee-ship.
Phase I (Stint based training):
The ETs are assigned specific projects which can be almost handled independently.
Phase II (On the job training) :
Through on-the-job projects, the ET would get a hands-on-experience.
Mentoring:
A unique practice that we follow is that of Mentoring. Every ET is formally assigned to a mentor who not only ensures that he/ she is getting appropriate training but who also helps the trainee on other social fronts. The mentor interacts with the Plant & Corporate resources to ensure appropriate training and other support. The mentor would help the trainee in matters like accomodation, settlement in case of misunderstanding or greater role clarity.
Career Movement:
At Marico, we believe in grooming executives into taking over managerial roles in the future and not just recruiting executives from a short term perspective. An Executive would thus be moved across factories, such that the Executive gets a diverse experience across Technologies, Products and Cultures. The Executive could also be moved within departments, so that he/ she gets comprehensive experience. A moulding for a higher order role.
Engagement with Marico as an Executive is an enriching experience through a high involvement in ongoing developmental projects, a high amount of responsibility – be it managing an entire shift on his/ her own, or the Interface with various departments, Corporate Functions, Senior management and an opportunity to play an institutional role and a true ‘Employee Relations’ role.
Have a look at how the Careers of those who joined us as Executive Trainees have progressed..
